Aunt Diva came and stayed with us for a couple weeks. She left a few days ago, but we had lots of fun wrestling and playing tug-of-war and hunting squirrels and Gracies.
The day she arrived, Gracie and I went to get haircuts. Here we are fresh back with our bandanas and being extremely cute. That's easy for us to do! Gracie seems to be distracted by something. She's so funny! Doesn't she know when the camera's on you, you're supposed to smile for your close-up?

Mountain Dogs!
We all went to a cabin in the north Georgia mountains a couple weeks ago, and we had a blast! Well, the ten-hour car ride was a real drag, but once we got there everything was great! I had lots of fun chasing after deer and going for walks in the mountains. In fact, here Gracie and I are ready to go for a walk.
Daddy says we're "saddled up," but I'm not exactly sure what that means. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with those stupid red harnesses. By the way, it won't be long before I chew through mine, though I have to remember to only do that when Mommy and Daddy aren't looking. Chewing on my harness seems to make them mad, but then I have to remind them of my one overriding truth: I'm in charge.
Sometimes, Gracie took a turn keeping a look out too. She's still learning to scare off the squirrels, but she's catching on. At the least, it gave me a chance to sneak into the kitchen to see if anything had accidentally fallen on the floor. (Sadly, that doesn't happen all that often.)
At night, we had to cuddle up with Mommy and Daddy extra tight because Georgia wasn't nearly as warm as Florida... and there were some odd growls at night. I wasn't scared, of course, but Gracie got a bit nervous.
So I guess we'll have to go back next year. Daddy hasn't said that we're going, but I know we must be. After all, I've already marked the territory, so it's mine, but how can I verify other dogs are respecting my boundaries if I don't patrol regularly?

As for the cabin, it was small. I couldn't even get up to full speed inside! But there was a terrific vantage point for me to oversee my new domain! Just look at this view! From that position, I could see any time a squirrel even thought he was going to come onto my property!

Happy Birthday to Me
Yay! I'm 4 years old today! My plans include snuggling up with my Mommy and Daddy, eating some treats, wrestling with Gracie, and chasing a squirrel. I'll probably also go for a walk and poop somewhere new.
Here are some more pictures from about three weeks ago. Again, we've just had a haircut. In fact, the haircuts are so recent in these pics that we're still styling with our bandanas from the groomers. Gracie is rooting in the grass like normal, and I was caught with my tongue out. I think the picture is a little goofy, but my Daddy likes it, so I guess it gets posted. Sometimes, I do things to make him think he's in charge, but we all know who's really pulling the strings, right?

We're Back!
Hello All. I know it's been a while. Daddy calls it "procrastination" that turns into "inactivity." It's just really hard to type with four paws, so I can't post anything unless Daddy stops being lazy and helps me.
Believe me, I've been anything but inactive, and I have lots of stories to recount in the coming days and weeks. We just got back from vacation, and I have a bunch of new toys. And I even caught my squirrel... although that's a bad topic. (Don't laugh, Gracie; I'm watching you!) Next time I'll be ready... All in good time.
For now, here are some pictures of us playing in our yard last October. Yes, last October. It's that Daddy procrastination thing again. We're still catching up. Anyway, Gracie and I had just got back from a haircut, so we were all pretty (of course), but we were still trying our best to get rid of that darn powder smell they put on us by rolling around in the grass a bit. I hate that powder smell! Anyway, stay tuned for more!

One Big Happy Family!
Good news! Gracie's been back from the hospital for several days now, and she seems to be fine. No more of that throwing up. She's even back to wrestling with me! The only holdover from her stay is her right front leg is still shaved from where they stuck her. Daddy calls it her "poodle foot," but I don't get it.
And speaking of Daddy, he's home early from Alaska! Not only that, but he brought a new toy with him just like last time! It's a opossum! Mommy and Daddy tell me that opossums like to "play dead," so I'm not going to let this one fool me. Even when it's still, I'm gonna keep biting!
I even felt sorry for Gracie with her being so sick recently, so I let her play with opossum while I wrote this entry. Now, I'm done, so it's my turn again. Until next time!

Poor Gracie
This past week has been awful!
First my Daddy left for that Alaska place again and then Gracie had to go to the hospital.
Mommy and I both tried to tell her that it wasn't ok to eat those little orange pumpkins from the palm trees, but she never listens. After she ate them she just kept throwing up. Mommy was really, really worried about her, so she finally had to take her to the hospital early Friday morning. She's been there since. The good news is that Gracie stopped throwing up and is able to eat like she's supposed to. Mommy said that she will probably get to come home tonight since she's not dehydrated anymore and is feeling better.
The other bad news is that since Gracie kept putting things in her mouth that she shouldn't, Mommy bought these things that we have to wear over our mouths when we go outside. I don't really think it's fair, because I didn't eat the orange pumpkins. Mommy says she's just trying to keep us safe. I guess I understand, but how am I going to attack the squirrels and lizards if I can't open my mouth? Maybe Mommy will only make us wear them for a few days.
Anyway, I would never tell Gracie this, but I've really missed her. I mean, there's no one here to tackle or to hunt, which makes for a very boring day. Mommy has taken me on a few walks around my kingdom and that's been ok. It would have been better with Gracie. I hope she comes home tonight, I miss the little booger.

I Miss My Daddy!
Daddy's packing again, and Abby's just too depressed to get out of bed right now. See what I mean? Anyway, I, Super-Gracie, will have to update the blog.
As it turns out, Daddy's going on another business trip to someplace far away he calls "Alaska." That's the third time in five months! I'm really getting to hate Alaska for taking my Daddy away from me so often, but at least we'll get to have snuggle time with Mommy! Maybe we'll even have a girrrls' night out!
Oh, you may be wondering about the changes Mommy and Daddy made to the house. I don't like them. I used to be able to run real easy on all the carpeting, but now there's this wood stuff that I slip on. Mommy says they're going to get a carpet to go over the wood stuff, but until they do, these changes are not Gracie-approved!
Anyway, I gotta go. Now that Abby's all mopey, it's my chance to eat my bone unmolested!
